I tried to resist. I tried to avoid. Really, I did. But, you know ... train wreck, rubberneck, it’s that sort of thing. It’s the two teasers for the Dragonball movie, a movie that Fox reportedly considered shutting down in mid-production and simply eating the financial loss on because they had so little faith in it. Remember when Chow Yun Fat made good movies? I miss those days.
Check two versions of the trailer - if you dare - at the link below.

Providing a better version to the previous bootleg teaser trailer of "Dragonball", DBTheMovie.com has posted a longer, clearer and with sound teaser. The one minute long footage explains that the heroes should find the seven mystical dragonballs to protect man's fate. Though many of the clips shown are similar to the one shown at the Brand Licensing Europe Expo, this one contains several different clips and teases more of the action sequences, romance as well as individual characters.
Adapting Akira Toriyama's famous Japanese manga of the same name, "Dragonball" focuses its story on following Goku in his journey to fulfill his dying grandfather's wish, which is for him to train with Master Roshi and prepares himself to protect the seven mystical dragonballs from evil's hands. It is directed and co-scripted by James Wong. Produced by Stephen Chow, the 20th Century Fox flick stars Justin Chatwin, Chow Yun-Fat, James Marsters,

The new trailer for Dragonball has surfaced on the web and it's...umm...to be honest, I have no idea what's going on in it. There's Chow Yun Fat, a glowing orange orb, and a bunch of attractive young people performing various martial arts moves. Oh, and there's a dude who looks like Pinhead from Hellraiser. I'm guessing he's the bad guy.
Having no familiarity with the film or the Japanese Dragon Ball Z Manga series upon which it is based (according to wikipedia), I'm in no position to evaluate the new trailer. Judging from the comments over at firstshowing.net, however, I'm guessing that fan reception has been decidedly mixed.

Bonjour! Buenos dias! Whassup! It's diversity week here at the Trailer Park and we're looking at previews for films from our about different cultures.
I've seen only a a few episodes of the Japanese cartoon on which this live action film is based, but I'm not seeing a whole lot here that reminds me of the anime. Frankly it reminds me more of Mortal Combat Kombat. Like the original, this is a martial arts fantasy with prophecies, super powers, lots of action and a hero with preposterously spiked hair. Chow Yun Fat is in there to add some action movie cred, but will that be enough? From what I've read the anime fans are not thrilled with this one, and it's not doing a lot for me either. I don't think this one if for me.
Here's a charming looking indie about a friendship between and Italian American

Before the real deal is coming out on October 17, a bootleg version of "Dragonball" promo teaser has been put out. Shot on the showfloor at the Brand Licensing Europe Expo in London, the very short video seems to be sort of an introduction to the characters. It also serves as a sneak peek into several action sequences and explosive fighting scenes between Goku and other characters, including with Lord Piccolo. Some of the clips shown have been outed earlier through the leaked screenshots.
Based on the phenomenally popular Akira Toriyama's Japanese manga, "Dragonball" is directed and co-scripted by James Wong. It is also produced by Stephen Chow. It will follow Goku's journey to fulfill his dying grandfather's wish, which is for him to train with Master Roshi to prepare him to protect the seven mystical dragonballs from an endless stream of rogues who strives to dominate the Earth.

Apart from all its regular characters, Japanese manga live-action adaptation "Dragonball" is going to have one interesting monster. Talking to MTV News about the forthcoming movie, the film's star Emmy Rossum lays open that the flick will have one very tall monster. "It's actually a very tall man - an 8-foot man," she explained.
Despite uncovering the fact, the starlet insisted that she couldn't discuss further about it saying, "It's based on something else from the..You know, I can't really say anything else." Beside this monster issue, she also slammed down the speculation hinting that the project is in jeopardy of being canceled. "Oh, no. I really doubt that's possible," disclosed Rossum. "That's not going to happen."
Moreover, the Christine Daae of "Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera" also confided about the experience she has when filming for her Bulma role. "In it, [I'm] riding a motorcyle in a leather catsuit,

One film I am personally not looking forward to in 2009 is James Wong’s “Dragonball.” Why? Because everything I’ve seen so far looks pretty crappy. There, I said it. Now you can hate me.
Anyway, Dbthemovie.com has a new poster and several screenshots from the upcoming flick. On the one-sheet, you can see Emmy Rossum as Bulma. Okay, I have to admit she looks good. Maybe there’s something to like about this movie after all.
“Dragonball” also stars Justin Chatwin, Jamie Chung, James Marsters and Yun-Fat Chow. The film is scheduled to open April 10, 2009, and a trailer is expected to hit sometime in October.
Click here for some more screenshots, and enjoy the new poster after the jump.

I might have been raised on the old maxim: If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all -- but even I can't keep my mouth shut on this one. A new poster and some stills from the live-action Dragonball have hit the net (along with some official pics from Fox), and it is not looking any better for the anime update. If you are one of the few Dragonball fans left out there with hope for this movie, I'm afraid once you get a look at James Marsters as Lord Piccolo, the dream of a decent flick goes right out the window. Although to be fair, I have to give them credit for trying out a slightly more 'modern' look on the new poster art.

Our friends at dbthemovie.com have uncovered some screencaps from the upcoming trailer for Dragonball. The odd thing is that this trailer isn't supposed to be showing anywhere until October. Someone obviously has an early version of it and took a few screencaps, two of which include the reveal of Piccolo, as played by James Marsters, while the others contain Justin Chatwin as Goku and even Chow Yun-Fat as Master Roshi. I've been holding my breath on Dragonball forever, waiting to see a trailer and some footage before I really make my decision on whether it looks good or bad. But this is the last straw - I can now say that this look awful, just downright terrible. Take a look if you so dare... I really hate to join the crowds in opposition of Dragonball, but I guess I was just trying to give the film a fair fight.

38-year-old New York actor Ken Leung ("Rush Hour," "Saw," "The Squid and the Whale") may have only gigged on a single episode of "The Sopranos" (as Junior Soprano's violent protégé in a psychiatric hospital), but it was enough to inspire producers to write him into another TV pop phenomenon, "Lost." As brooding spiritualist Miles Straume, one of the elusive strangers to parachute onto the island, Leung brings to the role both quiet menace and caustic wisecracks.
Leung can also be seen in writer/director David Kaplan's rotoscope-animated indie "Year of the Fish," a contemporary retelling of the Cinderella fairytale set in a seedy massage parlor and the streets of Chinatown. Leung costars as Johnny, an accordion player who may also be the Prince Charming to disillusioned immigrant Ye Xian (An Nguyen). Notoriously shy, Leung graciously offered up a phone interview from Hawaii while preparing to shoot

Putting the cancellation rumor behind, "Dragonball" brings forward exciting news about its trailer. According to Coming Soon, the 20th Century Fox will be introducing the first trailer of the live-action adaptation of Akira Toriyama's famous Japanese manga when their video game adaptation "Max Payne" debuts in theaters.
By that, it means that fans have to wait until October 17 to get the first look into "Dragonball". In addition, though the trailer is aimed to be released along side the Mark Wahlberg-action movie, IGN has hinted that the schedule is not 100% fixed since it has to wait for the movie to get its special effects and requisite approvals.
From the writer of popular television series "The X-Files" and the director of "Final Destination" and "The One", James Wong, comes a feature film about a humanoid alien, Goku, who protects the Earth from the oncoming stream of rogues attempting to get
