Clearly, I must be missing something. Vin Diesel has only had four hits, one in 2000, one in 2001, one in 2002, and one in 2005. The last hit was The Pacifier, not exactly the most explosive, action-packed adrenaline rush in the world.
His past two big budget action flicks, Babylon A.D. and The Chronicles of Riddick, were both stiffs, winning over neither audiences nor critics. Despite that fact and the knowledge that he's made more box office losers than winners, Latino Review reports that Columbia Pictures still wants Diesel to return as Xander Cage in the appropriately titled xXx: The Return of Xander Cage.
Please, contain your excitement.
As of now, all we have is an idea and that title. There's no script. Some would argue that xXx: State of the Union had no script, either. In fact, I hope I never forget the dumbest line of dialogue I've ever heard in a big budget movie.

It was another day of red carpets at the Toronto Film Festival, and this time there were a few new stars to add to the mix. Rachel McAdams was a welcome — but sadly date-free — fresh face at the premiere of Che, as was Emmanuelle Chriqui in her cute Lbd. Mark Ruffalo and Adrien Brody goofed around while Rachel Weisz looked gorgeous in her bandage dress as the trio kept on promoting The Brothers Bloom. Paris and Benji were happy to pose together there as expected to check out a screening of Paris, Not France, the documentary which features both members of the happy couple. To see more photos including Ethan Hawke, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Benicio Del Toro, just read more. Images include: Paris Hilton, Benji Madden, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Sunrise Coigney, Mark Ruffalo, Sophia Bush, Ethan Hawke, Scott Speedman, Rachel Weisz, Sir Ben Kingsley, Adria Petty, Tom Powers, Adrien Brody,

The Toronto Film Festival soldiered on yesterday, and Matt Damon's OneXOne Gala was just one of the many events. Jessica Biel and Kate Beckinsale looked gorgeous in white at the premiere of Easy Virtue and a press conference for Nothing but the Truth, respectively. Mark Ruffalo looked like he was having a ball with costars Rachel Weisz and Adrien Brody at an afterparty for The Brothers Bloom. Even Paris and Benji made the trip up to Canada in the name of partying, hitting the This Monday at Ultra party with Paris's canned prosecco in hand, naturally. There are a lot more photos including Len Wiseman, Scott Speedman, and Colin Firth so just read more. Images include: Colin Firth, Jessica Biel, Ben Barnes, Paris Hilton, Benji Madden, Kate Beckinsale, Vera Farmiga, Len Wiseman, Adrien Brody, Alan Alda, Rachel Weisz, Mark Ruffalo, Sunrise Coigney, Rian Johnson, Ram Bergman, Scott Speedman Source

I don't see what all the fuss is about playing gay characters. When I did Y Tu Mama Tambien, I was asked, 'Don't you worry about what people will say to you in the street?' It seemed like it was such a huge deal. Why would it be an issue for me? I think it is a very American thing. In Mexico, no one has given me any s**t for playing gay roles, for playing a transvestite, whatever. They don't confuse the actor with the role. I mean, they don't think Al Pacino's a cop! That's awesome actor Gael Garcia Bernal (http://themovie-fanatic.com/spotlights/stars/gaelgarciabernal/) talking. Man, he certainly has balls! Many young actors nowadays would rather keep mum or ignore offers to play gay, and why shouldn't they? Aside from the hungry press that can put the bad news within minutes, it could ruin their careers permanently.

Rogue Pictures is set to develop a sequel to Bryan Bertino’s horror thriller “The Strangers,” according to Variety.
Produced on a budget of roughly $9 million, the film opened in May and generated $54 million domestically. Liz Tyler and Scott Speedman starred as a couple terrorized by three mysterious attackers.
Bertino is expected to write the follow-up, although it’s not clear whether he’ll return to direct. The plot of the sequel will likely involve Liv Tyler and some of the first film’s villains.
Currently, Bertino is working on “Black,” which at this stage is described as a thriller with supernatural elements. He is also writing “Alone,” a thriller that has already been in development at Rogue for quite a while.
Although I pretty much enjoyed “The Strangers,” I really hate the idea of Rogue trying to launch another horror franchise à la “Saw.”
What’s your reaction to this?

"Rogue Pictures has set in motion a sequel to its summer hit "The Strangers" and has set Bryan Bertino to return to write the script," according to Variety. The article continues, "Bertino wrote the original and made his directing debut on the film; it’s yet to be determined whether he’ll helm the sequel. The expectation is that Liv Tyler, along with several of the original villains, will return. Production is being slated for early 2009." The first movie starring Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman went on to gross $54 million domestically making it the surprise horror hit of the summer. Writer/Director Bertino apparently has several other genre-related pictures on queue. The article says, "Bertino is also scripting to direct "Black," a character-driven thriller with supernatural elements, and is rewriting to direct the thriller "Alone." Both are for Rogue." More on The Strangers 2 when we hear it!

Violent scenes in Liv Tyler's new movie The Strangers are so realistic, test audiences fled cinemas fearing the actress was being injured for real.
Tyler and Scott Speedman play a couple terrorised and held hostage in their own home by a group of masked intruders.
The film is based on a real event, and contains graphic scenes of violence, that left Tyler battered and bruised and filmgoers terrified.
The actress explains, "I was literally covered in bruises for half the year. It was as far as I could push myself in every way: physically, emotionally, mentally.
"I remember the producer calling me and saying that the audiences freaked out because they thought it was a snuff film."

This Friday the latest home invasion movie hits theaters, The Strangers, which follows a couple in a remote suburban house who are targeted by three dangerous masked strangers. The resulting clashes force the couple to go well beyond what they thought themselves capable of in order to survive. Last week SpookyDan chatted with star Scott Speedman about his role in the film, along with his future with Underworld. I feel like this is so different from Underworld, he tells Bloody-Disgusting. It feels much more personal, and like it could absolutely happen. There was something about this that set it apart in such a major way. During the first 30 pages of the script you really have no idea what kind of film this is."
