Emmy's winners for acting are chosen in a three-tier system by actors who belong to the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. During the first two weeks of June, they participate in a popular vote that determines a Top 10 runoff in each race. Finalists submit a sample episode of their best work to judges, whose scores are combined by accountants in a 50-50 mix with results of the original popular vote. The five nominees in each category are then announced July 17. Winners are decided based on judges' scores of the sample episodes and are revealed at the awards ceremony to

Lost star Matthew Fox has been sworn to secrecy about the hit show's plot - as he's the only castmember who knows how the series will end.
The actor, who plays Dr. Jack Shephard in the show, admits his fellow stars hope he'll tell them what happens in the final episodes, which are set to be aired on TV in 2010.
But Fox insists he will never reveal the plot - because he enjoys keeping his special secret.
He says, "Yes, it's true. They understand I can't talk about it, but sometimes they'll ask, just hoping I'll blurt it out.

Lost star Matthew Fox has a new reason to drive carefully - he could lose his job if caught flouting the highway code.
Four characters on the hit show have been axed after the actors portraying them were arrested by Hawaii police for unruly driving.
And now Fox, who plays plane crash survivor Jack Shephard, hits the road with caution - for fear of being fired from the programme.
Fox says, "We've a running joke on the Lost set that anyone arrested for Dui (driving under the influence) gets killed off in the show. So I slow down now."
Dui incidents have plagued the Lost cast in Hawaii - castmates Cynthia Watros and Michelle Rodriguez both pleaded guilty to driving under the influence in January 2006 and April 2007 respectively. Daniel Dae Kim, who stars as the programme's Jin-Soo Kwon, was also arrested on the same charge last year. British actor Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje was also arrested for driving without a licence and disobeying a police officer.

Lost star Matthew Fox has a fiery temper - but only when he is driving.
The actor admits to suffering from severe road rage and always takes out his frustration on other drivers, screaming obscenities at people who fail to adhere to the highway code.
He says, "If someone cuts me up on the road. I will scream at them. Something like, 'Are you out of your f**king mind?' That's a special one of mine."
But Fox insists he isn't as bad as his wife of 17 years, Margherita Ronchi.
He adds, "My wife Margherita is from Venice, Italy - she yells at everyone!"

Oscar-winning actress Helen Mirren has won another award to add to her collection - for taking her clothes off.
The Queen star was named as the top celebrity by the Naturist Society in the U.S. for "promoting healthy nudity".
The 62-year-old - who appeared naked in hit British film Calendar Girls in 2006, as well as a string of movies throughout her career - was also chosen because she is an active nudist herself.
A spokesperson for the Naturist Society says, "She's actually a naturist and goes nude sunbathing. Nude is not lewd. It is beautiful."
The number two spot was given to The Closer star Kyra Sedgwick, who "sunbathes nude", with Lost star Matthew Fox in third place for admitting he loves to swim naked in Hawaii.
Other stars to enter the top ten for flaunting their bodies include Brad Pitt, Alanis Morissette, Lindsay Lohan, Goldie Hawn, Elle Macpherson and Kevin Bacon.

Lost star Matthew Fox aspired to be a top Wall Street, New York banker in his younger years - but decided against it after finance bosses launched a scathing attack on his dress sense.
The actor studied economics at Columbia University, New York, but decided not to pursue a career in finance after a rich banker laughed at his cheap outfit in an early interview.
The 41-year-old says, "I went to this interview and I'd had economics all going on in my head - which, to be honest, was largely to do with seeing Oliver Stone's Wall Street.
"I borrowed a suit that was two inches too short... borrowed some penny loafers also. I was so broke. There's four or five guys all in their mid to late 20s there.
"Then one guy looked around to the others and, I'll never forget this, said, 'Yeah, but we're gonna have to do something about those shoes. Ha, ha, ha!.' I looked down and they were all wearing exactly the same pair of Oxford business shoes, and I had my penny loafers with my borrowed pants that were too high.
"It was that moment I realised, 'No way.'"

From the vantage point of most box-office analysts, Sony's political thriller Vantage Point, will likely be the film to beat this weekend. A political thriller about an attempted assassination told from the point of view of characters played by Matthew Fox, William Hurt, Eduardo Noriega, Dennis Quaid, Sigourney Weaver, and Forest Whitaker, the film is expected to take in about $20 million. Three other new films are not expected to give it much competition. The New Line comedy Be Kind Rewind, starring Jack Black, opens in just 808 theaters and is likely to take in $8-11 million, say the forecasters. Mgm's Charlie Bartlett, a comedy set in a high school but which is rated R because of drug references, is expected to wind up with $7-10 million; Witless Protection, which was not screened for critics, is arriving with what Daily Variety described as "understated" expectations.
