Can anyone catch up to this cool cat? With Shia Labeouf's Eagle Eye taking the top spot at the box-office this weekend it makes four-in-a-row for the actor (not counting the animated Surf's Up) and it made me wonder if the 22-year-old is our next big time actor or if it's just a case of him starring in the right film at the right time that has made his films so popular leaving the title of "The Next Big Thing" up for grabs. Let's face it, Transformers and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull were going to make big bucks no matter what, Shia had very little, if anything, to do with their success. One could make the argument that Disturbia opened during a very weak time in 2007 and that accounts for its three week box-office domination with rather modest numbers, winning that third weekend with barely over $9 million.

Ignoring their 12-year age gap, Drew Barrymore and Ed Westwick apparently are hot new couple as they've been caught in the act in "full-on make-out session" at a rock concert in New York City late Tuesday, September 23. The pair were photographed kissing passionately at the Kings of Leon concert at Webster Hall in Manhattan as the music act sang their song "Sex on Fire".
Ed's "Gossip Girl" co-star Chace Crawford was also seen in the V.I.P. area at Webster Hall, but that didn't stop Drew and Ed to continue having another public display of affection (PDA) as they later that night were seen heading to the after-party at Bowery Electric. Picture of them "in a full-on make-out session" has been all over the net.
Drew and Ed's Tuesday PDA wasn't their first though. They, per US Weekly as being informed by a source, were spotted chatting this past

Drew Barrymore has sparked new romance rumours after she was spotted smooching with Gossip Girl star Ed Westwick at a recent Kings Of Leon concert in New York.
Reports suggest the pair hooked up for a "full-on make-out session" at the band's Webster Hall show on Tuesday night, before heading off to a nearby bar together.
An eyewitness tells UsWeekly.com, "Drew was hanging all over Ed. There was definite chemistry."
Sources claim it's the second time newly-single Barrymore, 33, has enjoyed the company of the 21-year-old Brit.
The pair also spent Saturday night together, at another New York hotspot with actress Ellen Page and Into the Wild star Emile Hirsch.
Barrymore recently split from boyfriend Justin Long.

Kirsten Dunst was looking particularly smiley in NYC on Saturday, but she found herself in a little bit of drama earlier that night. She stopped by SNL to support her Spider-Man costar James Franco, and ran into Drew Barrymore who was there to cheer on her BFF Cameron for her cougar cameo. Apparently Drew wasn't too happy to see her ex Justin Long's rumored new flame and the ladies had to split off with their respective celebrity buddies. The awkwardness continued at the after party at Wildwood Barbeque, as Drew and Kirsten continued to do their best to keep their distance in the crowd of celebs that included Emile Hirsch, Ellen Page, and the kids from Gossip Girl. Sounds like one of these ladies needs to switch from Mac to PC. Splash News Online

Still keeping her lips sealed about rumors that she's dating Nick Jonas, Selena Gomez however has stated that she isn't against dating rock stars. She and her actress friend Jennifer Stone were quizzed by Ok! magazine about the men of their dreams. And while Jennifer admitted to like "the shabby-looking guys, like Johnny Depp and Emile Hirsch", Selena said she likes a guy who's shy and creative.
Jennifer then continued telling Ok! "And I'm always attracted to actors - it's not good, but, hey, at least it's not rock stars!" Selena was quick to react on Jennifer's reference to rock stars, telling Ok! she doesn't rule out dating rock stars. Not making straight reference to her alleged romance with Nick, she simply insisted "no, I'm not. I'm going to say that - no I'm not" when being asked if she definitely is against having rock stars as boyfriends.

tMF picks some names among the current roster of young talents as the next set of top Leading Men! Who among Jim Sturgess, Emile Hirsch, Robert Pattinson and Shia Labeouf do you think is leading man material? [ Take the poll after the jump! ] - - - - - - There's a definition over @wikipedia about what makes a Leading Man (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leading_man), and I quote: Leading man or leading gentleman is an informal term for the actor who plays a love interest to the leading actress in a film or play. A leading man is usually an all rounder; capable of singing, dancing, and acting at a professional level, but never outshining his female co-star. A good leading man could make a bad actress look better than she was and a good actress shine. A leading man can also be an actor who is typecast in romantic roles. Less frequently, the

Focus Features have just released the first trailer of "Milk". Reeling in the first glimpses into their based-on-true-story feature film, the trailer is made in line of its tagline, "His life changed history, his courage changed lives". By that it means that the footage focuses on some of the main conflicts of the film, especially the social climate in late '70s.
Providing viewers also with Harvey Milk's conflict with city supervisor Dan White and the threats to his life, the trailer let out the performances of Sean Penn as Milk, Josh Brolin as White, Emile Hirsch as Cleve Jones, James Franco as Scott Smith and Diego Luna as Jack Lira.
From the Academy Award-nominated director Gus Van Sant comes the film about the later life and assassination of San Francisco city supervisor and gay rights activist Harvey Milk. One of two films about Milk, the flick is written by

Of the two Josh Brolin political bio-pics hitting theaters this fall, I have to say that Milk appears to have the most consistent vision for itself and frankly, looks like the far superior movie to Oliver Stone's W.
Again, it's just the trailer, but the performances seem more in tune with each other and the film, and there's really no question what the movie is about based on what we're seeing in these two-and-a-half minutes. Neither of those things is true of W.
Milk chronicles the rise to power of Harvey Milk, a gay San Franciscan who ran for public office in the 1970s, becoming the first openly homosexual candidate elected to a major public office. He was unbelievably controversial - or maybe he was exactly as controversial as you'd think - but Milk challenged the machine and won. For a while.

Trailer Addict just posted the first trailer for Gus Van Sant's upcoming biopic "Milk," which stars Sean Penn as Harvey Milk, a gay rights activist who became the first openly gay man to be elected into public office in the U.S. In 1977, he was voted to to San Francisco's Board of Supervisors. I'll let you discover the rest when the film opens Dec. 5, 2008.
As you can see in the trailer above, this is just the kind of film for Sean Penn, who usually does a fabulous job at depicting eccentric or/and complex characters. Also starring are Josh Brolin, Emile Hirsch, James Franco and Diego Luno. Gotta look forward to that cast! Indeed, "Milk" looks like an interesting project. Enjoy.

Stoltz completed "Milk" starring Sean Penn, Josh Brolin, Emile Hirsch and Diego Luna and is in post-production phase for two TV offerings found in "Blank State" and "Caprica." It would be inaccurate to say that Ang Lee has ever been a lazy filmmaker. One of the very few successful directors to genuinely roll the dice every time he makes a movie, Lee is now set to take on one of the seminal moments in American pop culture history.
It was 39 years ago that Woodstock forever changed the course of rock n' roll, at once the apotheosis of 1960s counter culture and effectively the end of it. But for three days in August of that year, hippies and music lovers congregated on a farm in upstate New York by the hundreds of thousands to hear performances by The Who, Ccr, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Sha-Na-Na (?), The Grateful Dead, and more.
Lee will dramatize the events leading up to that fateful weekend in his next film, and his longtime collaborator James Schamus recently outlined the production to Rolling Stone.

Surprisingly there hasn't been too many fictional films that have used the Woodstock music festival as a back drop. Cue Taking Woodstock, the latest film directed by Ang "Brokeback" Lee and based on the memoir of Elliot Tiber who played a vital role in helping the historic 1969 music fest unfold on his neighbor's farm. The Film stars Daily Show alum Demetri Martin as Tiber and Emile Hirsch as a Vietnam vet. Other cast members include Paul Dano, Imelda Staunton, Liev Schreiber,...

A crew member on Emile Hirsch's movie Speed Racer is convinced the actor is gay, after walking in on an awkward moment between him and co-star Kick Gurry
The pair was taking a break between scenes in a trailer onset in Berlin, Germany, when an assistant burst in, while the Into the Wild actor was half naked and out of breath.
Hirsch explains, "Me and Kick were in the trailer hanging out. Kick was sitting back with his hands behind his head and I was doing push ups. It was hot so I peeled my driver's suit down a bit, and then Eric, the wonderfully gay production assistant, walked in. I jumped up really quick, but I was out of breath.
"Eric slammed the door shut. We went to Eric later and tried to explain. He was like, 'Shhhhh. I will never tell.'"
But Hirsch discovered a positive side to the confusion, when Eric leaped to his defence during a later confrontation. He adds, "I then got in this feud with a German woman and Eric defended me. He told her, "You do not understand what this boy goes through every day.'"
Hirsch has been linked with Mamma Mia! star Amanda Seyfried, and Gurry dated Christina Ricci.
