Love the show a lot, but...., 14 September 2005
Author: from United States

I just read about Judge Judy that she divorced her husband Jerry (2nd husband) for a year, and then remarried him. She had children with both husbands. For someone who rips into immature people and preaches responsibility and doing the right thing, doesn't her past actions somewhat place her in the category of the "idiots" she gets so annoyed at in her courtroom? Don't get me wrong, I think she's great. Actually, I love her show and she is way better than Judge Joe Brown and others. I do not think bad of her for her marriage thing. Everyone makes mistakes. But she should tone down a little sometimes on these litigants, most deserve it, but at times I feel it is uncalled for. I have seen her criticize young parents who, for example, may have children and not be married, or perhaps have multiple children with different fathers. But what does getting divorced and remarried in a year show a child about commitment and marriage? I hope this show continues for a long time, it's so entertaining!

Judge Judy: Sharp as a Hawk, 6 July 2005
Author: intimeyouwillcallmemaster from United Kingdom

Since first viewing Judge Judy shy of six months ago, I have been hooked upon ITV2's daily triple bill of her show.

Real-life small claim (i.e. below $5000) cases are settled in the courtroom of Judge Judy. Beside her stands the silent bailiff Byrd; and as the plaintiff and defendant, along with any witnesses they chose to bring, relay their versions of the story. Judge Judy is quick to pick out any holes in the story; giving the subject one more chance to start talking honestly. It takes little more than a second for her to bring down an entire argument on accounts of one weakness, unveiling the clear truth. Whichever side is winning, Judge Judy takes the time to offer a blunt review of each person's behaviour, leaving them with sound advice for the future. Thus one way or another, a lesson is learnt. Judge Judy is quick to analyse the entire case, rarely exhibiting bias, and in minutes provide a lucid, logical answer as to who is in the right, and who in the wrong, and what the judgement should be.

Judge Judy is intelligent, blunt, and a great icon of Justice. I never get tired of her show, despite the frequently similarly structured cases. This is a great way to unwind, and from the mistakes of others and their scrutiny by Judith Sheindlin, you learn some terrific lessons in life, as well as about America's justice system. 9/10

The Best and Only Good Court Room Series on TV, 29 July 2004
Author: (caspian1978@hotmail.com) from Attleboro, MA

When Judge Judy hit cable in the summer of 1995, no other court room (reality) series could contend. Even the series that were on CBS or ABC could not contend with the like of Judy. By the title, the series went into syndication and was picked up by the major networks, other series like the People's Court and Judge Joe Brown got into line behind Judge Judy to pick up the pieces of Judy's fan base. Today, there are literally over 20 different cable and network court room reality series on television. Judge Judy is far and away the best and only good court room series on the market. The rest fall short by being too staged, too comical or just too bad!

Whether you like her or hate her, you can't help but love how she treats the people that are on trial. If you ever have a bad day at the office, the best cure for you is watching 30 minutes o Judge Judy. It will perk you up and put a smile on your face.

Excellent show, 23 June 1999
Author: chris-474 from Australia

Judge Judy is an excellent judge, and as a result, her show is compulsive viewing. Her tough decisions are fair, even though the people disputing may not think so and her common sense is a credit to her. Finally a television show we can watch which displays the kind of people Americans really are! Everyone should watch Judge Judy as it is good for those wanting to learn more about the law and also a good source of entertainment. By the way, before some of these people go on the show, don't they realize they're going to lose! How much common sense do you have to have to work out that if you steal something or smash somebody's car you might actually get punished for it!

I am in love with Judge Judy, 5 August 1999
Author: Brian Baxter from Australia

I have fallen madly in love with Judge Judy. She is the perfect woman, low maintenance- a black robe and an old white lace doily is all she wears. She can solve any family dispute in ten minutes flat, twenty minutes if the rightful ownership of a Harley Davidson is involved. What more could a man ask? I cannot see enough of her programs but I am too overcome to set the VCR to record them. Doug Anderson has not replied to my stamp addressed E-Mails to find out where "The Best of Judge Judy" videos may be obtained.

An Australian lawyer told Radio National's breakfast program (another of my obsessions) that if Judge Judy's type of justice came to Australia all the lawyers, judges and court staff would be out of a job! What a woman!

When I confessed to my wife about my obsession, she spent $280.00 of her and Medicare's money to send me to a leading psychiatrist. He was also a fan of Judge Judy and we spent the 45 minutes discussing her various cases. My wife was furious and demanded that Capital Ten replace Judge Judy with repeats of Roseanne or she would blow up their Goulburn translator building on Mount Grey. Please adjust your program schedule accordingly

The Absolute Best Court Show, 18 May 2006
10/10
Author: Scoval71 from New York, NY

She is miles ahead of the other copycat courtroom shows that cannot even begin to compare with Judge Judy. Some of the other shows, like Divorce Court with the flamboyant three inch nails Judge Maybleen borders on the camp and ridiculous. As for Judge Judy, here is truth and realism. I try to watch it as often as can. Judge Judy is no one's fool and is as articulate and intelligent a person as anyone could aspire to be----a real and true role model. She can spot a liar in a blink of one eye. I admire her and find her show refreshing and educational as well. For those who think she is curt or rude, well, she does not take the crap these people are dishing out to win their cases. You think she's rude, too bad, watch some other show. The other shows are entertainment. Judge Judy is the real deal.

She's like a cross between a tornado and a bolt of lightning!!!, 17 July 2005
Author: derek-chapman11 from Liverpool, England

I'm not sure my comments will be valid as I'm English and gay, but I think I've fallen in love with Mrs Scheindlin! She's sharper than a razor, very witty, fearless, and with an ability to focus like I've seldom seen before. She takes obvious care when delicate children are involved, always spots the baddies, fakes, and blackguards in a matter of minutes, deals with each case with lightning speed, and for her age, is a very attractive, if conservative, woman. I've seen many of the shows, some two or three times. They are entertaining, educational, and a shot in the arm after a bad day at the office! I bet she's terrific company too! So to sum up, she's hard, fair, attractive, witty and extremely clever. Not a bad combination, and you don't get that many like that, at least not over here in the UK. I hope she carries on till she drops!! And if ever you fancy a drink Mrs Scheindlin ....... !!!!!!!!!

I LOVE Judge Judy!!, 8 July 2008
Author: BrandonJ1981 from United States

She takes crap from no one and she is not afraid to let people know of their foolish behavior. People who have problems with her are obviously up to no good themselves. I love how she is not afraid to tell off these parents who constantly make excuses for their kids bad behavior. I also love how she lets those lowlifes have it. She also lets these young women who take advantage of others and come to court dressed like skanks have it. This world is going downhill and I am glad there is still people like Judge Judy in this world who are moral and decent and want other people to be the same. People have just become outrageous these days.

Another Judge Judy Fan, 3 September 2007
9/10
Author: desertnan49 from United States

From the day I first watched Judge Wapner on The People's Court (followed by Ed Koch, Jerry Shiendlin my favorite, and now Marilyn Million, my obsession with small-claims court shows began. I have watched Mills Lane, Joe Brown, Greg Mathis, and, more recently, Judge Alex, Cristina Perez and Maria Lopez (a tough Cuban with the same fire and Zeal as Judge Judy). Most are good (notice most are Hispanic?), but none seem to get down to the nitty-gritty faster than Judge Judy. She keeps her litigants on the subject, reining them in when they wander off the subject, and successful at getting a Yes or No response to a Yes or No question. Sure she yells, and I think at times too much (which is why I rated her 9 out of 10), but there are few times I don't agree with her decisions. One says she's a woman hater, another says she's a man hater. I just think she hates liars no matter which gender. She tries to get across to everyone that she handles a lot of cases, has no time to waste, and may be a tad too abrupt for some viewers. As for me, I will mourn the year her show is not renewed which is more than I will say for the other judge shows I continue to watch.

Best of the courtroom TV shows, 27 January 2003
Author: Barry-73 from Mullica Township, New Jersey, USA

I believe Judge Judy is my favorite of the real courtroom-type TV shows. But I like all of them, at least all of the regular, small-claims court shows. (leave out Animal Court and Divorce Court) Judy Sheindlin appears to be very conservative, and judges very fairly. I also like her personality, even if she does yell at people from time to time. But I think most of them deserve it. Hope she continues a long time. When Hollywood first found her and asked her to do a TV show, I think they had a great idea.
