Despite their separation, the celebrity couple had been spotted on numerous outings together in recent weeks, including the New York City wedding of radio shock jock Howard Stern over the weekend. During the nuptials, held at Le Cirque restaurant, Jimmy was seen wrapping his arms around Sarah's waist and playfully grabbing her backside. Goldberg Pays Tribute To 'Guardian Angel' Newman

29 September 2008 6:35 PM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

Whoopi Goldberg is celebrating the life of her late pal Paul Newman, because the acting legend was her guardian angel.

Newman watched over the actress-turned-talk show host during two health scares - and she remains eternally grateful.

Speaking on her U.S. talk show The View, Goldberg says, "He was one of the best people I've ever known. I got very sick 15 or 20 years ago, to the point when I almost died. I was in a coma, and when I woke up, sitting on the window sill in my hospital room was Paul Newman. I thought to myself, 'am I dead'?

She adds of the second time Newman came to her rescue: "When he first introduced the Newman's Own Lemonade, the catchline was 'it restores virginity'. We did a photoshoot with him holding the lemonade and me standing by a pool of water.

"After the shoot we went to dinner, then I went home and got very sick at the hotel. They took me to the hospital and he wouldn't leave until he knew I was Ok.

"I'm going to celebrate his passing - he was a great man."

Newman died on Friday from cancer at the age of 83.

Last night she and Benji celebrated the grand opening of Haven nightclub before she headed to The View this morning. Paris may have moved on since her stint in jail last year, but Joy couldn't help bringing it up when she thought a criminal record would prevent Paris from voting in the upcoming presidential election. Paris was quick to set the record straight and hopefully her participation in the election will go further than nominating herself for candidacy. Couric Next To Take A Crack At Interviewing Palin

17 September 2008 10:33 AM, PDT | From Studio Briefing | See recent Studio Briefing news

CBS News anchor Katie Couric has landed Sarah Palin's second major broadcast interview. The network said Tuesday that Couric's interview will take place on Sunday, Sept. 28 and Monday, Sept 29 and air the next day, on Monday and Tuesday, ahead of the vice-presidential debate later in the week. Meanwhile, tensions mounted between the McCain campaign and NBC/MSNBC after McCain, during a guest appearance, described Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski as "a supporter of Senator Obama." Brzezinski, clearly irritated by the remark, responded, "'Supporter of Senator Obama?' I'm not sure I would characterize myself that way." Brzezinski is the daughter of Zbigniew Brzezinski, who served as National Security Advisor in the Carter White House. But she pointed out that her brother Ian works for McCain's campaign. Also on Tuesday McCain's wife Cindy expressed outrage over the way she and her husband were treated on ABC's The View last week. "They picked our bones clean," she complained.

Jones Reaches Divorce Settlement With Reynolds

10 September 2008 9:07 AM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

U.S. TV personality Star Jones has settled her divorce from her husband of nearly four years, Al Reynolds.

The former The View talk show host, 46, filed for divorce on 26 March at Manhattan's Supreme Court in New York, and it was subsequently labelled an "uncontested matrimonial" case by officials.

According to the New York Post, the settlement came just moments before the pair was set to appear in court.

A source tells the newspaper Reynolds was allegedly upset with the prenuptial agreement he signed, leaving him "basically nothing," though he relented to avoid higher court costs.

A spokesperson for Jones said the former couple "have reached an amicable settlement in their divorce proceeding... Both parties are moving on with their private lives."

Jones and Reynolds wed on 13 November 2004 in a lavish New York City ceremony, which came under scrutiny after she plugged the nuptials' corporate sponsors at length on her chat show.
