Gary Busey has publicly apologised for his bizarre behaviour on the red carpet at the Oscars last month when he lunged at a terrified Jennifer Garner and planted an unwanted kiss on her neck.
The actress and pal Laura Linney were in the middle of a live interview when Busey approached the pair and embraced and kissed them.
Nervous Garner had to struggle to maintain her composure as Busey then stood right next to her for the remainder of the televised interview with U.S. TV and radio personality Ryan Seacrest, before Linney dragged her away to safety.
Busey has since revealed he had no idea the ladies were being interviewed live, and now he's making a public apology on TV.
Speaking on U.S. TV show Extra, he says, "I got very excited and I did not know Ryan Seacrest was doing an interview. I apologised to Jennifer, I apologised to (husband) Ben (Affleck), I apologised to Ryan."

Denise Richards is fighting ex-husband Charlie Sheen over her plans to include the former couple's two daughters in a new reality TV show. Sheen has refused to let his girls, three-year-old Sam and Lola, two, take part in the former Bond girl's TV plans - and so the ex-couple is going back to court later this week to fight it out. Sources tell news show Extra that Richards recently landed the reality TV deal, which will revolve around her life as a working single mum in Hollywood. In order for the girls to appear in the reality television show, Sheen has to approve but he has refused. Richards is asking the court to revoke Sheen's power as the children's father in this matter, so she can move forward with the show without his consent.

The latest tribulations of Britney Spears fired up the ratings of the syndicated entertainment magazines last week but proved to be disastrous for Dr. Phil McGraw. According to Broadcasting & Cable, Entertainment Tonight saw its ratings soar a whopping 26 percent during the week ending January 6 -- with much of the rise attributed to its Friday, Jan. 4 coverage of Spears's enforced hospitalization, when ratings climbed 34 percent over the previous Friday. Ratings for Extra leaped 20 percent. Inside Edition saw its ratings climb 15 percent from the previous week, while Access Hollywood's numbers were up 14 percent, and Tje Insider, 11 percent. Meanwhile, the New York Daily News reported that, despite canceling his planned "intervention" show involving the pop star, bookers for Dr. Phil have been having difficulty lining up celebrity guests to appear on his 1,000th show. One source told the newspaper, "Nobody wants to go near it" since the Spears episode. Although the newspaper also claimed that Dr. Phil's popularity has also plummeted, the latest ratings indicated that he remained second only to Oprah Winfrey as the highest-rated daytime talk-show host, averaging a 4.0 rating to Winfrey's 4.7.
