Fun Stuff

Trivia:
While on location at the Emma Willard School in Troy, New York, 'Kevin Kline (I)' stood in as an English teacher for several classes who were studying Shakespeare at the time. Students gave him rave reviews as an instructor. more
Goofs:
Factual errors: Mr. Hundert, a pedantic and demanding classics professor, would be unlikely to make the error of saying that Caesar's army was "comprised of" two legions. He would have said that Caesar's army comprised two legions, or that two legions composed Caesar's army, or that Caesar's army was composed of two legions. A trivial error, perhaps, but out of character nonetheless. more
Quotes:
[first lines]
William Hundert: As I've gotten older, I realize I'm certain of only two things. Days that begin with rowing on a lake are better than days that do not. Second, a man's character is his fate.

The movie deals an good and idealist teacher(Kevin Kline)of Roman classic history and a roguish and rebel pupil(Emile Hirsch) in a high class prep school .The professor tries to redeem him but the continued challenge makes that the incorrigible student(besides senator's son:Harris Yulin) is difficult or impossible to dominate.Meanwhile the starring falls in love with a attractive and married teacher(Embeth Davidtz) and has got problems with the director college(Eward Herrmann).

The picture is based on a Ethan Canin book called ¨Palace thief¨. The story is narrated with sensitivity and intelligence and are treated ethics and morals issues developed with great sense of ductility and fairness. The professor will must to face on the truth that can to be manipulated o phony. The motion picture takes part of the school genre that the maxim representation is :¨Dead poet society¨. The film is displayed throughout among the past and present time where we find the same personages although twenty vive years later ,except Kevin Kline the actors are different. The interpretation actors is excellent,Kevin Kline as mature and old professor hand the role perfectly,Emile Hirsch as the rascally young is top notch and Embeth Davidtz is wonderful and enjoyable. James Newton Howard music is sensitive and touching. The story is well directed by Michael Hoffman. Rating:Above average.Well worth watching.
