Recently, we reported on the events to come in the anticipated new season of The Unit, which returns to television screens tonight at 10pm.  On the show’s third season, we saw Jonas in the middle of an investigation involving the link between a Russian uranium dealer and his old friend at MI5.  The show’s third season spanned 11 episodes due to the writers’ strike, but this time, they’re ready to come back with new episodes that would pick up where we left off last season.

The Unit star Scott Foley recently talked to IGN, sharing his thoughts about the new season and how he has adapted to the show, given his drama series roots.

"The team has been out of the country on a mission for five or six months," Foley recounts.  "And during that time, the military and the secret service has been infiltrated.  And we come back,

NBC Stars Can't Join 'Scrubs' Finale

11 September 2008 2:00 AM, PDT | From buddytv.com | See recent BuddyTV news

Fans of Scrubs know very well how frustrating it was following the show while it was with NBC, the network that enjoyed tossing the series around in different timeslots.  In fact, even series creator Bill Lawrence has been very honest about his thoughts on how the network has handled his show.  Nonetheless, season 8 of the show will push through, but will air on ABC, after receiving poor treatment from NBC.  In fact, IGN reports that they have already shot their season finale last week, even if the season premiere is yet to be announced.

Meanwhile, another NBC snub was picked up by fans when Michael Ausiello of Ew reported that NBC prevented two of its stars from participating in the season finale of Scrubs.

NBC has apparently banned HeroesMasi Oka and Chuck’s Sarah Lancaster from appearing in the final episode of Scrubs’ season 8.

'Scrubs' Off-Limit for NBC Stars Masi Oka and Sarah Lancaster

8 September 2008 10:14 PM, PDT | From Aceshowbiz | See recent Aceshowbiz news

Due to respective commitments to the production house where their TV shows are under, "Heroes" star Masi Oka and "Chuck" actress Sarah Lancaster won't return as guest stars of "Scrubs". It has been months since NBC that own the right to "Heroes" and "Chuck" lost the sitcom "Scrubs" to ABC.

NBC officially ban Oka and Lancaster from recurring their roles in the series that will open a whole new chapter next year in spring. On the decision, "Scrubs" creator Bill Lawrence accommodates his disappointment, saying "They (Oka and Lancaster) wanted to do it, but NBC said no. Typical classy stuff," and adding "But (they) should not have been part of that fight. It felt kind of petty to me."

Oka played Franklin, a nerdy Japanese laboratory assistant who had his first appearance in first season while Lancaster portrayed Lisa, an attractive young blonde who ran the Sacred Heart Gift Shop

Baldwin Says Sorry For TV Shows Slur

8 September 2008 5:10 AM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

Latest: Actor Alec Baldwin has apologised for attacking hit shows My Name Is Earl and Scrubs in a row over TV schedules.

The Pearl Harbor star recently blasted bosses of TV network NBC for their promotion of his series 30 Rock, and claimed they were determined to "wring the last drops" out of other shows.

He insisted My Name Is Earl and Scrubs were "done" and "cooked" - and that 30 Rock should have been promoted more heavily instead.

But he has now apologised for the comments, according to celebrity blog PerezHilton.com.

Baldwin says, "My apologies to the cast and crews of My Name Is Earl and Scrubs. In my frustration with NBC's reprehensible promotion of 30 Rock, I took an unfortunate swipe at both of those shows and that was not cool."

But he could not resist a dig at My Name Is Earl creator Greg Garcia, who has previously criticised the actor over the notorious phone message to his 12-year-old daughter Ireland in which he called her a "thoughtless little pig".

Baldwin added: "But, for Earl's creator, Greg Garcia, who referred to me as a 'psychotic', I have only one question: Why are you Scientologists always rendering these medical opinions you aren't qualified to give?"

Heroes star Masi Oka and actress Sarah Lancaster have been banned from appearing in the Scrubs series finale, which will hit TV screens next spring.

Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence wanted all the significant guest stars who have appeared on the sitcom to appear in the finale - but he has come up against TV red tape with NBC stars Oka and Lancaster, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Scrubs was an NBC show but rival network ABC has snapped up the sitcom for its last shows.

Lawrence says, "They (Oka and Lancaster) wanted to do it, but NBC said no. Typical classy stuff... It felt kind of petty to me."

Ausiello Gets a Scoop on 'Scrubs,' Actress Tending to Other TV Endeavors

5 September 2008 11:00 PM, PDT | From buddytv.com | See recent BuddyTV news

While Scrubs has been surrounded by a lot of sad news about the stars departing from the television series despite its endurance to air another season, fans are still hopeful that the show will come back even stronger with season 8 moving to ABC.  This spawns from creator Bill Lawrence’s statement that he definitely wants the show to go on forever, or at least until its ninth season.  However, fans are pondering how he would pull this off with stars Zack Braff and Judy Reyes announcing their departure from the show.

Meanwhile, Michael Ausiello of Ew gave us a little tidbit about his conversation with Bill Lawrence, reporting that “there's 'at best a 50/50 chance' of the show going on beyond this season.”  Ausiello also quotes Lawrence saying, “I see it as ending for Zach, and I see it as ending for me” and that the particular season 8 episode they are

Earl Creator Hits Back At 'Narcissist' Baldwin

5 September 2008 5:12 AM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

The creator of hit comedy My Name Is Earl has hit back at Alec Baldwin after the actor accused TV bosses of favouring the show over his own series 30 Rock.

Baldwin recently launched a scathing attack on NBC - criticising TV chiefs for giving extra help to shows including Scrubs and My Name Is Earl, at the expense of his own TV comedy.

He said, "NBC hasn't done a thing to help this show (30 Rock). They've gone out of their way to wring the last drops out of My Name Is Earl and Scrubs. Those shows are done! They're cooked! Yet they do a one-hour episode of Earl."

And the star's comments have infuriated My Name Is Earl creator Greg Garcia - who has fired back, labelling Baldwin "unlikable" and "distasteful".

He also refers to Baldwin's 2007 scandal over a leaked phone message to his 11-year-old daughter Ireland - in which he called the youngster a "thoughtless little pig" - insisting the incident may have effected 30 Rock's ratings.

He tells New York Post gossip column PageSix, "(Baldwin) sounds like a psychotic narcissist. Instead of blaming NBC, I think Alec should consider that some people in America may not want to watch a man who cusses out his own 11-year-old daughter on a phone message.

"Oh, and the reason NBC occasionally puts on an hour long episode of Earl is because an hour of Earl gets better ratings than an Earl followed by a 30 Rock. It's called math, stupid."

But he's working hard to win the 29-year-old Roswell actress back: "Shiri still has her doubts, but neither of them can call it quits."

Scrubs Takes Over Bahamas Island

21 July 2008 7:01 AM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

The cast and crew of hit TV comedy Scrubs swelled the population of a small Bahamian island recently when they filmed an episode on location there.

Series creator Bill Lawrence jumped at the chance to film in the Bahamas - where the show is a big hit - when local officials offered to foot the bill for the shoot.

He says, "There were no roads, and they had rolling blackouts every couple of hours but it was one of the best experiences I've had.

"It's a fantastically funny episode, where (actor) Neil Flynn gets married in the Bahamas. He invites 700 people to the Bahamas on three days' notice because all he wanted was the gifts. He didn't want anybody to show up.

"We were on a little island called Hope Town in the Bahamas. The population is 300, and we brought 84 people there, so we increased their population by about a third.

"I hired myself as the preacher that marries Neil and his wife-to-be."

Scrubs Creator Says NBC Gave Him No Respect

17 July 2008 10:31 AM, PDT | From Studio Briefing | See recent Studio Briefing news

The creator/executive producer of Scrubs is clearly miffed at NBC for the way the network decided to cancel the series. Speaking at the Television Critics Association's press tour in Beverly Hills Wednesday, Bill Lawrence said, "If you are [doing] a show on a network for six or seven years, and you make someone millions and millions of dollars, you should be able to end the show [the way you want to end the show]." As reported by Broadcasting & Cable, Lawrence said that he told the network that although he expected to be allowed to wrap up the show in eight episodes, he could do so in three. "And there wasn't a lot of interest on their part." Lawrence indicated that while he is not certain whether the show will continue beyond next season on ABC, which picked it up, he plans to film the season finale with the understanding that star Zach Braff will be leaving and "making a big deal about it."
