Engaging, Action, Emotion, Superb Writing, Incredible Acting, Twists and Turns These are some of the words to describe "The Shield." It is one of FX's finest shows ever made, and one of the best shows ever made PERIOD.
The Acting on this show is second to none as evidenced by performances by Forest Whitaker in season 5/6 and Glenn Close in season 4. Also, Michael Chikilis is a dirty cop that shows both his good side and his bad side in emotional times during the series. At some points you hate him, and at some points you like him and what he does to help people out.
What's most thought-provoking is that it's one of the first TV series to bring a cop into a bad light. On top of that, it brings a realistic depiction of gangs in L.A. Also, the camera shaking makes it seem like you are there in that situation and has the feel of a COPS episode.
This show truly has been a pleasure to watch and as it comes to an end, the finale is still up in the air. It's one of the true pleasures of watching this unique show, you don't know what's going to happen in the end.
