Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford is angry that bosses of an online dating website have used his image in an unauthorised attempt to boost membership.

Crawford is pictured in the ad on match-making website WooMe.com alongside a tagline that reads: "Find guys and girls near you."

But the 23-year-old insists bosses at the site - which links members via webcam - never officially hired him as the face of their brand.

Crawford's representative tells the New York Daily News, "They had no right to use his name or photo. He is not the spokesperson."

A spokesperson for the website is yet to comment.

The Parents Television Council, which single-handedly launched the letter-writing campaign that induced the Federal Communications Commission to intensify its regulation of television indecency, has suggested that the CW has not screened the pilot episode of the new 90210 series because it contains scenes that the network doesn't want sponsors to know about. The PTC is currently campaigning against the CW's Gossip Girl. (The CW is actually using quotes from the PTC's attacks in its ads to promote the show.) In a statement, the CW said, "Withholding the advance screener for 90210 has nothing to do with content concerns and everything to do with strategic marketing for the most anticipated new show of the fall season."

Some lovely ladies of Gossip Girl celebrated the upcoming season at a party hosted by Henri Bendel and Ysl Beaute in Manhattan last night. The actors were also out to recognize their costume designer, Eric Daman, who got a big smooch from Jessica Szohr. Blake, Penn, Ed, and Chace were Mia, but the rest of the girls represented with lots of fierce posing. Leighton even brought along her rumored boyfriend, Sebastian Stan. While they got super cute with their red carpet kisses, it's only one more week until we get to see who queen bee Blair gets romantic with on season two. Veteran actress Robin Wright Penn was so impressed with her co-star Blake Lively's performance in an upcoming movie, she tried to imitate the young star's portrayal.

Lively stars as young Pippa Lee in forthcoming film The Private Lives of Pippa Lee, while 42-year-old Penn plays Lee at a later stage in her life.

And Lively reveals that Penn decided to base her character on the Gossip Girl star - after being inspired by the 20-year-old's depiction of the repressed housewife in her early years.

She says, "It's her character I'm playing, so we talked about it. I asked, 'Are there any Pippa tendencies you want to talk about?'

"But she said, 'What are you talking about? I saw your reading and copied you!'

"So I didn't have to worry about doing anything that Robin was doing."

Blake Lively has laughed off rumours of a feud with Ugly Betty star America Ferrera.

Ferrera was seen rolling her eyes as Lively was asked about her TV hit Gossip Girl when the pair appeared together on a U.S. news show earlier this month.

The two actresses were promoting new movie The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, in which they both appear.

But Lively insists she and Ferrera are the best of friends - and she doesn't blame her for appearing exasperated on the news show.

Lively explains, "I haven't even heard about it. I don't ever pay attention to that stuff.

"She's one of my best friends in the whole wide world and honestly, when you're sitting in a room for three hours doing satellite interviews... We were staring at a Post-It (note) with a smiley face, so I think I probably rolled my eyes a hundred times. I'm like, 'Oh gosh, this thing is still going on?'"

Becoming a starlet and young ladies' dream man, Chace Crawford did admit that he kicked off his acting career from nothing. In an interview with Ryan Seacrest on his Kiis-fm show, he openly revealed that he used to work as a valet driver during his early days at Pepperdine University. Worse, he even admitted that he wasn't even good at it and often stole gum from his customers.

Being asked by Ryan if he had to wear a red vest when doing his job as valet driver, Chace said "I wish. I was the rookie...I was running everywhere." On stealing gum while doing his job, the TV actor revealed he used to steal "a lot of gum, actually" from customers' glove compartments.

Recalling back to those days, Chace shared the most memorable experience he had during that time. "Suge Knight came in once, and I got really scared," he stated.

Chace Crawford has hinted his co-stars on TV hit series Gossip Girl do not get along.

The actor admits there is particular tension between co-stars Blake Lively and Leighton Meester - but only during filming.

He says, "There are obviously always little dramas. You are on set for 16 hours, so people get irritable. In any workplace there are always little things and frustrations.

"Leighton and Blake could not be more different from each other but as far as I know there has never been any real difficulty. We are all good friends and we go out socially together."

DVD Links: Release Dates | New Dvds | Reviews | RSS Feed Dexter - The Complete Second Season I already reviewed this second season of Showtime's "Dexter" and offered up quite a bit of praise, but as I say in my review, if you are interested in getting started with this show about a Miami blood splatter specialist doubling as a serial killer I recommend you first check out the first season because this is a show you don't want to jump into in the middle. If you have a Netflix Roku player you can check it out in the Instant Play as I did. Quick, easy and simple. I am not sure if this is a show you will want to buy however. As much as I enjoyed my time watching it, the second season character Lila played by Jaime Murray really hurts any chance of watching it over and over again.

After their big premiere party in the Hamptons over the weekend, the kids of Gossip Girl were back to work in NYC yesterday afternoon. While the girls look like they kept things a little more civil this time around, Leighton and Blake were happy to talk about the much anticipated S vs. B scuffle coming our way. Miss Lively said, "We were laughing so hard . . . it was 1a.m. and it was rainy out. We were ad-libbing." Who am I to deny the success of Gossip Girl? Along with America's Next Top Model, the vampy New York teen drama is legitimizing CW as a network, at least in terms of ratings and revenue.

The show has made a big star out of Blake Lively, although these things are relative; Jennifer Aniston is a "big star" and she can't navigate a movie career with any more success than she can her relationships. Granted, it's awfully early for Lively, who turns 21 next week, and I'm sure if she did more than Traveling Pants movies and Accepted, her status in the movies might be elevated. You can't really argue, though, that she was the breakout star on television last year, arguably on the breakout show on the tube.

Gossip Girl is gearing up for its second season, which starts Monday, September 1st. The DVD set for season one will be released tomorrow,

Lauren Conrad showed off another of her seemingly endless collection of adorable dresses walking around West Hollywood yesterday with her BlackBerry in hand, of course. The Hills returns on Monday (yay!) and as usual the starlet is everywhere as we all gear up to get back into their world. Earlier this week Lauren talked about how surreal it is that tour buses stop in front of her house to take photos — even calling Lo the celebrity dog walker for Chloe! — no wonder her neighbors aren't the biggest fans. She also talked more about her apparently nonexistent love life (still hard to believe) and love of Gossip Girl. Crawford plays promiscuous rich kid Nate Archibald in the hit U.S. TV series.

But he denies his drug-taking character encourages the show's young audience to follow suit.

He says, "They're not stupid and it's not like we're making an instruction manual telling them how to drink and do drugs, or have sex. We're just laying out how it is."
