Trivia:
The American version of the film is shorter than the Japanese version. Producer Galen Walker said in an interview that "about seven or eight" scenes were cut "just for timing, and just for pace of story," and admitted that director Yoshiaki Kawajiri was unhappy with the cuts. An opening exposition text, which is traditional for "Highlander" films, was also added to the American version. moreFAQ

I guess it's unfair to comment on Highlander: The Search for Vengeance since I loathe anime. I am, however, a huge Highlander fan so I decided to check this out via Netflix. I haven't had Netflix for very long, but I can't safely say this is the worst movie I've ever taken out since having it. As a Highlander fan, I can't endorse the flick in any way, shape, or form. Continuity errors are everywhere (a problem in all Highlander sequels yet especially bad here), the animation is flat and generally unappealing, the voice work is horribly dubbed with corny dialog, and the story is nothing Highlander fans haven't seen before. Those into anime may enjoy it, those who aren't should stay away unless they absolutely need to see every Highlander production. It's obvious from the very beginning that the picture is nothing but a big check in the producers' pockets. Suddenly my expectations for the next live-action Highlander have become even lower. Skip this flat out terrible entry in the series. 0/10
