Merv griffin is an artist in gameshow creating. he's pumped out greats
like wheel of fortune and jeopardy that have just kept going and going
and they continue to go. however, crosswords is different. it has no
good twists in it. but before I tell you those twists, it's best you
know the whole idea of the game.
The object of the game is to be the player who has the most cash in the
end. how to get cash? you have to do the crossword puzzle. the host
gives a hint out, and the first contestant (or spoiler, See paragraph
below) to ring in will have a chance to say the word. this goes on
throughout 3 rounds. whoever has the most money at the end of the game
goes onto the bonus round for an extra 5 grand (yippee) and a trip to
some fancy place. the whole idea is to finish the crossword puzzle.
As mentioned above, there are also 3 extra contestants called spoilers
who enter in the 2nd round. they want to take over the podiums so they
have a chance at winning. they can do that in several ways.
There is also something called the "Crossword extra" which is like a
daily double from jeopardy. the contestant that answered correctly last
will be the only person who's allowed to answer. they also have to set
a wager not to exceed the total they have, and if it's below the round
minimum (Round 1 = $500, Round 2 = $1,000, Round 3 = $2,000) they can
wager up to that amount.
As much as I hate to admit it, this show does have it's negative
points, but at least it's better than some of the trash on these days.
like the moment of truth. yeah, that show is horrible.
This show is a mix of positives and Negatives. Watch it once, and see
what you think.

This is a nice game show. I don't like all these newer game shows that
try to ADD excitement and suspense. That new Million Dollar Password,
for example, has too much red in it!! And there is all these dumb
reality shows. And with revivals, such as Pyramid, they just don't get
things right. They don't do anything that they did before that was
interesting, and they add other things that just don't work out... If
you try to revive a game show, make sure you make it reflect off the
best versions. Like I said in Million Dollar Password review, A Joker's
Wild revival should reflect 1980s version, which includes set design
and everything. Same thing with early 90s TTTT, which also matched the
Jeopardy! set at the time (both had flashing large letters of the game
show title) This is a wonderful new game show. It is just as good as
Wheel Of Fortune & Jeopardy!, which are two daytime game shows. I hope
this one lasts a while, but it needs to upgrade some things... Their
grand prize is 5K. Big deal compared to other game shows. And other
prizes are trips to some place. Where is the studio audience?? But as
far as the set is concerned, it is very modern and nice looking. They
also take advantage of today's technologies and use a giant screen to
display the crosswords. I am not sure how "Now You See It" or even
"Scrabble" managed back then, before giant screens were common.
